There are multiple international brands present in India offering cars but there are a lot more brands present in other international markets. For car lovers, boundaries do not mean much. Here are five privately imported exotic SUVs and cars of India.
Chevrolet Corvette Stingray
This is the seventh and the latest generation of the Corvette breed of muscle cars. The Corvette Stingray has come to India from Oman is the only 7th generation Stingray in the country. The bright red colour of the vehicle is also the flagship colour of the vehicle.
The Corvette Stingray draws power from a massive 6.2-litre V8 petrol engine. The engine churns out a maximum of 455 Bhp and 610 Nm of peak torque. The car can do a top speed of 290 km/h and can do 0-100 km/h in just 4.2 seconds.
The Avalanche is quite a rare vehicle. Chevrolet produced the vehicle only for five years and sold it in the North American market. There is one red coloured Avalanche that has been spotted in India and it is the only one in the country. The pick-up truck based on the Cadillac Escalade EXT gets full body cladding giving it a rugged look.
The pick-up truck is huge and draws power from a massive V8 engine. The engine displacement varies from 5,3-litre to 8.1-litre. We are not sure which engine powers this one. The 5.3-litre engine generates a maximum power of 285 Bhp while the 8.1-litre generates 340 Bhp.
The Crossfire is a unique looking sports car that was in production for about 4 years. The car is a rare find even in the international markets. The car was conceptualised by Daimler-Benz during its years of union with Chrysler, the car went into production after the Daimler-Chrysler separated.
The Crossfire is powered by a 3.2-litre V8 engine that produces a maximum power of 218 Bhp and 310 Nm of peak torque. The two-seater sports car can reach a top speed of 241 km/h and can accelerate from standstill to 100 km/h in 6.5 seconds.
The Prowler is a retro-styled hot-rod vehicle. The unique looking vehicle has been spotted quite a few times in Mumbai. The red and black car spotted in India was here through Carnet and was bought by an Indian owner. The car is powered by a 3.5-litre V6 engine and it has two different size tyres at the front and rear. The front gets 17-inch wheels while the rear wheels are of 20-inch. The vehicle is speed-limited electronically and can do only 180 km/h.
The big bad American SUV which is often seen in the USA presidential convoys is finally seen in India. The Suburban is only available in LHD set-up. This is the latest generation of the Suburban. While there are two different V8 engines that are offered with Suburban, we are not sure, which one powers the vehicle seen in the picture. There is a 5.3-litre V8 that generates a maximum of 340Bhp – 519 Nm and a 6.2-litre V8 that produces 426 Bhp – 610 Nm.
